Eddie Trotta is Thunder Cycle Design

Eddie Trotta is the driving force behind Thunder Cycle Design in Fort Luaderdale, Florida and has been building award-winning custom motorcycles for over 30 years. At the tender age of 16 he built his first chopper, a custom shovelhead, while working in New Haven, CT at East Coast Choppers. That led him to many other, non-motorcycle ventures.

Eddie’s adventures took him to study at the Berklee School of Music where he became an accomplished musician. Trotta was later bitten by the horse racing bug, where he has won over 100 races as an owner of thoroughbred horses. Once he conquered the turf it was time to tackle the surf. As the builder and throttleman Eddie captured numerous off-shore titles, including the prestigious Barcardi Cup. In 1991 Eddie again returned to the world of customizing where he has been ever since.

In less than ten years Trotta built a clientele that reads like a who’s who of celebrities, entrepreneurs and athletes. In 2001 and 2002 Eddie became one of the four builders on the famed Camel Roadhouse Tour. This exposure has led to the development of a complete line of Thunder Cycle parts and accessories.

Eddie is an active participant in the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County. He has also donated custom motorcycles that have reaped a number of charities well over one hundred thousand dollars and counting.

Numerous articles have been done on Eddie Trotta and Thunder Cycles over the years in publications such as EasyRider, V-Twin, and others. He's been on various television programs on such channels as the Discovery Channel, the Speed Channel, the Travel Channel, and others. Eddie and his bikes are also featured in two coffee table books: Art Of Chopper, Choppers - Heavy Metal Art, M. Lictcher.
